Norton AntiVirus is a popular security software program that can be used to protect your computer from viruses and other malware. However, Norton can also be used to protect your privacy. If you are not comfortable with the way Norton protects your computer, you can disable Norton AntiVirus on your computer. To disable Norton AntiVirus on your computer:

  1. Open the Start menu and type “cmd” (without the quotes) into the search bar.
  2. Type “netstat -a” into the command prompt and press Enter.
  3. The “netstat -a” command will show you a list of all active network connections on your computer. You will see a list of networks in three sections: Local Area Networks (LANS), Remote Area Networks (RANs), and Unknown Networks. The Unknown Networks section will include any networks that are not listed in any of the other two sections.
  4. In the Unknown Networks section, look for a network called “Norton”. If there is a line in this section that starts with “C:\Program Files\Norton”, then Norton has been disabled on your computer for security reasons. To enable Norton AntiVirus again, you must first remove this network from the Unknown Network list and then add it back to the list using the same command line parameters as before.

You can turn off Norton Antivirus by going to the Windows 10 Start Menu and typing “Norton” in the search bar. Click on the Norton Antivirus icon, then click on “Uninstall.” You will be asked to confirm that you want to uninstall. Click “Yes” and wait for the process to finish.You can turn on Windows Defender by going to the Windows 10 Start Menu and typing “Windows Defender” in the search bar.
