If you have a Google account, it’s important to reset your password. Resetting your password will help protect your account from unauthorized access and help you keep your personal information safe. To reset your password, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Google account.
- Click the “reset password” link at the top of the main screen.
- Enter your current password and click the “reset” button.
- Your account will be restarted and you’ll be able to log in as usual.
To discover this feature, attempt to enter an incorrect pattern or PIN five times at the lock screen. A “Forgot pattern,” “forgot PIN,” or “forgot password” button will appear. Tap it. You’ll be asked to input your Google account username and password.
If you reset a phone that is linked to a Google account, you must use the same account and password to “unlock” it in all recent versions of Android. It’s known as FRP (Factory Reset Protection), and it’s designed to make stolen devices less appealing.
Simply input an incorrect pattern or PIN five times at the lock screen post, and you’ll see a “Forgot Password” button. Enter your Google account username and password (the one linked to your phone) after tapping the button.
Go to Settings. If your phone is in tab view, go to the System page. Select Security. Uncheck Reactivation lock. Review the warning about disabling reactivation lock and tap OK when you’re ready. Enter the Samsung account password and confirm your choice by tapping Confirm.
To delete a Google Account, go to Settings > Accounts > Select the desired Google Account and press Remove Account. Make sure you select the account by tapping Remove Account then Confirm Removal.
