If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the messaging options out there, deleting your messenger account may be the best decision for you. Here’s how to do it:
- Open up your messenger app and sign in.
- On the main screen, tap on the three lines in the top left corner (or press Command + Shift + 3 on a Mac).
- Under “Account Info,” tap on “Delete Account.”
- Confirm that you want to delete your account and then tap on “Delete Account.” ..
To unlink it, go to Messenger, then select your profile image in the upper left corner, and Select Privacy & Terms > Deactivate Messenger. Then input your password and choose Continue. Finally, tap Deactivate?
You may remove accounts you’ve created, however, you can’t get rid of all of them or log out of Messenger. Keep in mind that at least one account must be operational. You won’t be able to delete the account you’re currently using. In the upper left corner, tap your profile picture in a Chat.
What Happens If You Deactivate Messenger? No one will be able to see your profile in the app or send you messages in existing conversations if you deactivate Facebook Messenger. You must deactivate your Facebook account for a second time if you only want to keep the Messenger service.
Tap your profile photo in the top-left corner of the window or screen on the Chats page. At the bottom of the screen, select “Legal & Policies.” Tap “Deactivate Messenger” and then “Deactivate.” Enter your password, followed by the “Continue” button.
From Chats, tap your profile photo in the upper left corner. Tap Switch Account from the drop-down menu. On one account, swipe left. Then choose Remove and Remove from the drop-downs.
