If you’re like most people, you probably use social media to keep in touch with friends and family. But if you’re a bit more organized, you can delete your hangout messages – and never have to worry about them again. To delete your hangout messages, open the app on your phone and select “Delete All.” Then type in the name of the person or group you want to stop talking to. For example, if you’re a member of a Facebook group, type “Facebook” into the text field and hit “delete.”

Unfortunately, you can’t delete conversations on both ends. That is to say, even if you select a conversation for deletion the other participants will still be able to see it and read any messages previously sent. There is no way to delete messages from someone else’s device with Google Hangouts without deleting their entire account.

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Hangouts app. Open a conversation. At the top right, tap More Options. Delete Conversation if you’re sure it’s what you want to do; Tap Done on that screen and then confirm in the pop-up box;; You’ll see Delete all conversations next to “Delete” at the top of your screen

To delete a message, touch and hold the message. Scroll to Delete and tap it.

Your Hangouts account is the same as your GMail account and your YouTube account. If you remove your Google Account from your phone, all of Google’s apps will no longer work (anything not related to Google on this device will still be there).

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Album Archive with your Hangouts account. Tap Photos from Hangouts. Select the album that contains photos you want to delete. Tap on a photo and at the top of the screen tap More. To Delete an Album, Open it: Click on More > select Delete this album
