If you’re a Google user, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of the “Google deletion” feature. This is a way to erase all of your data from the search giant’s servers, including your search history, contacts, and other data. If you’re not sure how to use this feature, here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Google account. If you don’t have one yet, create one now.
  2. In the top left corner of your screen, click on the three lines that say “GOOGL.” This will take you to a page where you can enter your name and email address.
  3. Click on the “delete my data” button at the bottom of this page. You’ll be asked for some information about why you want to delete your data (this is optional). After clicking on the button, all of your data will be erased from Google’s servers.

Using Google’s My Activity tool, you can remove your data. You have the option of removing all of your Google-generated information, including both time and date ranges. Then pick All products from the drop-down menu at the bottom. The last step is to delete anything. If you don’t want some applications’ data to be erased, but

You’ll lose all of your data and content, such as emails, files, calendars, and photographs. You won’t be able to access Google services using that account, such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or Play.

Your data is kept on Google’s Cloud Platform in the United States, which has the same security standards, procedures, and infrastructure as other well-known Google products such as Gmail and Drive.

Users can now set a time limit for Google to keep specific kinds of data, such as searches and other surfing habits, after which the information is automatically deleted. For now, the auto-delete feature is only accessible in “Web & App Activity,” which monitors things like your searches and other online activity.
