Hotspot Shield is a VPN that isn’t designed to detect or remove viruses. Hotspot Shield encrypts your whole Internet connection from end to end to safeguard your privacy, but it does not prevent you from downloading dangerous files to your computer or mobile device. We recommend utilizing an antivirus/anti-malware program that is reliable.

Open the Settings app and go to General > Profile. Go to: General, then Profile. locate your desired VPN profile (it should have the name of the app printed on it). Press the red “Delete Profile” button at the bottom. You’re done! Your VPN profile has now been deleted.

You should be particularly careful when downloading free software and always pick custom installation to avoid unwanted installation of Hotspot Shield. If you don’t think Hotspot Shield is beneficial in any way, we recommend removing it from the computer.
