If you’re like most people, you probably use iCloud to store your photos, music, and other files. But there are a few ways to delete content from the service if you decide you no longer need it.

  1. Delete items by hand: Open iCloud and select the item you want to delete. Type or paste a deletion command into the text field and hit the Delete key. The item will be deleted immediately and all of its data will be lost.
  2. Use Apple’s app: If you don’t have iCloud installed on your device, open Apple’s app and select “iCloud.” Then select “Delete.” The item will be deleted immediately and all of its data will be lost.
  3. Use a computer: If deleting content from iCloud is not an option for you or if you have some special circumstances that require it, try deleting content using a computer instead. Open iCloud on your computer and select the item you want to delete. Type or paste a deletion command into the text field and hit the Delete key on your computer’s keyboard. The item will be deleted immediately and all of its data will be lost if it is stored on an external drive (like an external hard drive).

The first step is to sign in with your Apple ID. Next, go to the app that has the content you want to delete. Finally, tap on the Settings app and then iCloud. You can then select what you want to delete and how long before it disappears from iCloud.

iCloud is a service that stores files on Apple’s servers. As such, you cannot permanently delete anything from iCloud. You can only delete the files locally, and they will still be stored on Apple’s servers.
