If you’ve ever used Venmo to pay for something online, you know that it can be a helpful tool. But if you want to delete an old Venmo account, there are a few steps you need to take. First, open the Venmo app on your phone or computer. Then click on the “Delete account” button at the top of the screen. Next, enter your name and email address in the “Account information” field and click on the “Delete” button. You’ll be asked to confirm your deletion before it happens. Once it’s done, you’ll need to log in to your account and see that your money has been removed from your wallet.
Your business profile will be permanently deleted (if you have one) if you cancel your personal account, and Venmo will be unable to reactivate it. Before closing your account, you’ll need to move any money in your Venmo account to your bank account or return the funds to the sender.
Because you can’t have two accounts with the same phone number on Venmo, you may use the temporary phone number strategy to work around this problem. You may utilize one of the two services described in the preceding section: DoNotPay or Receive SMS.
Open the Venmo app on your phone. Select a signup method, then make a secure password (between 8 and 32 characters long). Verify your phone number and email address. Add your bank account details.
Visit the official Venmo website. Select “Sign in” from the drop-down menu, then enter your old phone number, email address, or username and password. In the upper right corner next to your avatar, click on the “Edit profile” button. Remove your old phone number by tapping on it in this box.
The quickest approach to have your account reactivated is to repay the amount with a debit card. Paying via your bank is an alternative, but keep in mind that these payments may take a few days to process. In any case, when Venmo receives the money, your account will be re-enabled.
