If you have an iPhone, there are a few ways to delete old email accounts from the device.

  1. Open the Settings app and select the General tab.
  2. Scroll down and select Accounts and then select Delete Account.
  3. Type in your email address and password and press Delete.
  4. The account will be deleted and you will need to re-enter your information if you want to continue using it.

Select the account in iOS 11 and earlier Settings -> General -> Profiles, then scroll all the way down to Delete and choose it. Select Delete Account again from the bottom of the screen.

Tap the red circle next to the email address you wish to delete. The Recent screen will open. In iOS Mail, check that this is the email address you want to be removed from autofill / autocomplete. Select Remove From Recents from the drop-down menu.

Type the name of the individual whose email address you want to update into the white search bar with your Google Contacts open. … Select a checkbox after clicking over the incorrect/old email address and then hover over it and click it. Click the trashcan [Delete] button in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Try checking out Settings > Accounts & Passwords > account > Account > Advanced, and under Deleted Mailbox select the Trash folder – then exit that sequence of popups by tapping on the appropriate buttons at the top of them before you can remove emails.
