If you’re like most people, you use iCloud to store your email, contacts, and other important data. But if you no longer need an IMAP account—perhaps you switched to a different email provider or your old one retired its service—you can delete it from iCloud. To delete an IMAP account from iCloud:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Under “Mail,” tap the account you want to delete.
  4. Under “Settings,” tap the “Mail” tab (or select it in the list).
  5. Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the screen (or select it in the list). ..

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts. Tap on the name of the email account you want to delete. If you see options to enable Contacts, Calendars, and Notes: You’re currently using IMAP, select “Delete Account.” If you get a POP Account Information window:

Delete an address from iCloud.com by going to Account Settings, then Manage in the Custom Email Domain area. Select the domain you wish to remove an address from. Click the remove button next to the address you want to delete, then follow the on-screen instructions.

In Gmail on your computer, go to settings. Click the Settings link in the upper right corner. See all of your settings. In the IMAP access section, deselect IMAP. Save Changes by clicking OK.

Your iCloud username and password are linked to each other via your Apple ID, so the email address that is associated with your iCloud account is always the same as the one that is linked to your Apple ID. You can’t change your Apple ID’s @icloud.com address if you have one, but you may add a second email account. For additional articles, check out Business Insider’s Tech Reference library.

Depending on how you set it up, you might only lose what’s in outlook – imap mail is copied to outlook, not deleted from the server. 2. imamp accounts always generate a new data file. POP3 accounts can be configured to utilize an existing pst file.
