If you have a Mac, there are a few ways to delete your account.

  1. Type “md” in the Terminal and press Enter. This will take you to the Mac’s main menu.
  2. Click on the Accounts button and select “Delete Account.”
  3. Type “df” in the Terminal and press Enter. This will take you to Disk Utility.
  4. Click on the “Delete” button and confirm your deletion by clicking on the “X” in the top right corner of Disk Utility’s window.

The files and data of the user are preserved, and the user may be re-created if necessary. The home folder is kept in /Users/. Remove the home folder from the computer: Choose “Delete the home folder.” The user’s information is erased as well as any storage space used.

Open Users & Groups preferences for me. Select the user or group you want to delete, then click the Remove button (looks like a minus sign) below the list of users. Delete User one of the following options. Click Delete User.

Check to see whether the user account you intend to delete is the only administrator account. If there is just one administrator account on the computer, you may not remove it; instead, you must either add another account to be an administrator or create a new administrator account and then delete the previous one.
