If you’re a Facebook user, it’s likely that you’ve seen the group “Delete Facebook Group” pop up on your screen at some point. This is a great way to get rid of any inactive or unenlightened members of your group, but be warned: deleting a group can leave your account vulnerable to attack. To delete a Facebook group, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account and click on the " Groups" tab.
  2. Scroll down and click on the " Delete Group" button.
  3. Enter the name of the group into the " Name" field and click on the " Delete Group" button.
  4. Click on the " Thanks for deleting this group!" button and confirm your deletion by clicking on the " Delete Group?" checkbox.

If the only member of a group is the owner, they have the option to remove it. Admins may archive a group, which removes it from the public search on Facebook and prevents new members from joining. Admins can only delete a group if the original owner leaves the group first.
