If you’re feeling overwhelmed by Facebook’s ever-growing presence on your Android device, there’s a simple way to deactivate your account. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Facebook app on your Android device and sign in.
  2. Tap the three lines in the top left corner of the main screen.
  3. Under “Settings,” tap “Account.”
  4. Tap “Deactivate account.” ..

To deactivate your account, go to Settings from your main profile and select Account Ownership & Control. Scroll down and choose Settings Select Account Ownership & Control. Tap Deactivation and Deletion. Tap Deactivate Account, then Continue to Account Deactivation and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm.

Open the Facebook app on your Android device. Tap the three-lined icon (hamburger menu). Go to Settings & Privacy. Select Settings from the drop-down menu. Account Ownership and Control should be selected by default. Deactivation and deletion should be chosen. Deactivate Account should be selected first.

Then go to your profile and select Edit Profile from the drop-down menu in the top right corner. Then, in the bottom right corner, select Temporarily disable my account. Select an option from the drop-down menu next to Why are you disabling your account? and then re-enter your password.

If you remove an app, it will be completely removed from your phone. An app may be disabled by toggling its switch off. Disabled apps will no longer receive updates.

There is no limit to how long a person may keep their profile inactive on Facebook. However, if a person truly wants to make the split permanent, he or she may cancel the account.
