If you’re a Facebook user, it’s important to know how to deactivate your account. Deactivating your account will stop all your posts and notifications from being sent, and it will also remove any personal information you’ve added to the site. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Log into Facebook.
  2. Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the main screen (the one that says “Profile”).
  3. Scroll down until you find “Deactivate Account.”
  4. Click on it.
  5. Follow the instructions onscreen to complete the process.

Click in the top right of Facebook. Select Settings & Privacy > Settings from the drop-down menu. In the left column, select Your Facebook Information. Choose Delete Account, then Continue to Account Deactivation and finish the procedure.

What happens if you delete Facebook? When you deactivate your account, your timeline, including postings, photographs, and friend lists, as well as “about” information is removed.

Tap Facebook from your main profile. Scroll down and select Settings & Privacy, then Settings. Select Account Ownership and Control. Tap Account Deactivation and Deletion. Tap Deactivate Account, then Continue to Account Deactivation to finish the process.

You may continue to use Messenger after you’ve deleted your Facebook account. If you deactivate your Facebook account and then try to log back in, Messenger won’t reactivate your Facebook account, and you’ll be able to interact with your friends.
