If you’re a USAA member and have an account with the military or veteran benefits organization, there are a few things you can do to close it online. First, go to your account page and click on the “close my account” link. This will take you to a page where you can enter your information and password. Next, click on the “submit” button and provide all of your information. You’ll then be asked to confirm your closure by clicking on the “confirm” button. Once everything is complete, you’ll need to log in to your account and click on the “close” link at the top of the page.

Verify your account by providing them with information such as where the policy was purchased and when you bought it. Request a pro-rated refund for any unused time remaining on the policy by specifying today’s date if applicable.

Maintain your routine with a new bank.Review all automatic and recurring transactions to ensure they are on the statement of account from the new bank.Transfer any money currently in your old account to your new account.Close out any remaining balance at one time by transferring over funds from checking, or closing out the debit card linked to that account.Once you have officially transferred everything, request written confirmation stating that transaction is complete.
