If you’re an Etsy shop owner, it’s important to close your shop on the App. This is because Etsy takes a cut of each sale, and closing your shop on the App will help reduce your chances of getting paid. To close your shop on the App, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account and click on the “Closing Shop” button.
  2. Click on the “Details” tab and enter the following information: Your name (or pseudonym), Etsy’s contact information (e.g., email address, phone number), and a brief description of your business (e.g., " handmade jewelry store").
  3. Click on the “Save” button and then click on the “Close Shop” button.

Select the Shop Settings option and then Options. Select the Close Shop option. Please complete our brief survey before closing your store.

When your credit card expires, it usually happens because you haven’t updated the expiration date. If it isn’t chargeable, you won’t receive a deposit. In any case, you won’t be able to terminate the account until the payment account has a zero balance.

Go to your Etsy shop and click the Your Shop button that appears at the top of every page. On the left side of the screen, click the Options link under Shop Settings. Click Close Shop on the right-hand menu. The Close Your Etsy Shop page will appear.

On Etsy.com, click You. Click Your Account settings. To the Close, Your Account section, scroll down. Select a reason for leaving Etsy and add an optional comment if you wish. Select Close Account from the drop-down menu.

You may remove your Etsy seller account and close your business from the Etsy site. If you still have open orders, you can put your Etsy shop into Vacation Mode to prevent new ones from coming in. Before you can delete your Etsy account, you must first shut it down.
