If you’re like most people, you probably use Google Home to control your home’s lights and appliances. But there are a few things you can do to clear out the Google Home’s history and settings if you want to use it for other purposes.

  1. Open the Google Home app on your phone or computer.
  2. Tap on the three lines in the top left corner of the main screen. This will show a list of all of your devices that are connected to your Google account.
  3. Scroll down and tap on the device that you want to clear out from the list. This will take you to a screen where you can select which settings you want to change for that device.

Select your profile image in the upper-right corner of the app and select Assistant settings > Devices. Tap the device you’d like to disconnect from your Google account. To delete an unlink a device, tap Unlink this device on iOS or Remove device on Android.

The Google Home does not include a reset button at the factory. Instead, it employs the Microphone Mute button on the rear of the device for this purpose. Hold down the button for 12-15 seconds, as with the Home Mini. You’ll hear The Assistant confirm that your device has been reset; then you may release the button.

Remove the power connection from your Wifi device. Allow 10-20 seconds for it to fully shut down. Connect the power cable back into your Wifi device. Wait 1 or 2 minutes for it to completely reboot.

Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your speaker or display. Tap the Google Home app icon. Settings. More menu appears in the upper right corner. Reboot is under More settings.

Start by unplugging the power cable from the Google Wifi device. 2. Start pressing and holding down the device’s reset button on the back.
