Nintendo has a lot of different eShop accounts, each with its own benefits and restrictions. If you’re not sure which account to use for your game or app purchase, it’s best to create a new one. Here are some tips on how to change your Nintendo eShop account:

  1. Log in to your Nintendo account and click on the “Accounts” tab.
  2. In the Accounts section, click on the “New Account” button.
  3. Enter your name and email address into the fields below and click on the “Create Account” button.
  4. Your new Nintendo eShop account will be created and you will be able to access it from your computer or mobile device.

After a Nintendo Account is connected to a user account, it is irreversible. To disconnect a Nintendo Account from a Nintendo Switch console, both the linked user account and the associated user account must be deleted.

To remove your Nintendo eShop account, go to Settings/Other and scroll down. Select Delete Account from the drop-down menu. Select Delete next, then Enter Serial Number. To remove an account, type the first 10 digits of the serial number into the on-screen keyboard and hit OK.
