If you’re like most people, you use your Apple account to store your personal information, shop online, and access your favorite apps and services. But what if you want to change your Apple account name, password, or email address? Here’s how to do it on a Mac. ..


Go to the Apple menu and select “Preferences.” Click on “iCloud” in the drop-down menu. Enter your Apple ID and password.

Delete the secondary account. Select System Preferences Apple Menu. Mail, Contacts, and Calendars are the options. Delete any other accounts. In iCloud preferences, log out of your primary account. Login to your preferred secondary account instead of your primary account.

Then go to the Users Groups preference pane on your Mac, choose Apple menu System Preferences, then click Users & Groups. If the lock at the bottom left is locked, double-click it to access the preference pane. Select the user or group you wish to remove and then hit the Remove button (looks like a minus sign) below the

You can also make one on an iPhone or iPad, or go to the “My Apple ID” website here to set up one. Make sure you change your iCloud and Apple ID passwords if you’re going through this process.

You can’t combine Apple IDs. Consider using Family Sharing to continue to use items bought with one Apple ID on additional Apple IDs. Different features may have their own sign-in systems.
