If you’re a Dropbox user, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of the popular file sharing service’s recent redesign. The new design is more organized and easier to use, but it also means that you can’t cancel your subscription. That’s because Dropbox doesn’t have a way to cancel your account without first deleting all of your files and folders. If you want to stop using Dropbox, there are a few ways to do it.

If you want to cancel your subscription, go to the Billing page and select Manage Subscriptions. Select Cancel Your Plan from the drop-down menu. We’ll ask you for some comments and confirmation of your decision.

Select your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the upper right corner. Choose Settings from the drop-down menu. Billing may be found under Update next to Payment Method.

If you signed up for a free trial of one of Dropbox’s individual plans like Dropbox Plus or Professional, you can cancel it before it ends so you won’t be charged.

Open the Dropbox mobile app. nap Account in the bottom right corner. Select Manage your subscription from the drop-down menu.

Open the Dropbox program. In the taskbar (Windows) or menu bar (Mac), click the Dropbox icon. At the bottom of the window that appears, there’s a bar with text that reads Your files are up to date, Syncing or Syncing file(s). The word changes to Stop file transmission as you move.
