Twitter is a social media platform that allows users to communicate with each other. It was created in 2006 and has over 1.5 billion active users. The platform is used to share news, photos, and thoughts. It can be used by businesses and individuals to connect with their followers. Twitter has a deletion policy that states that any user who violates the company’s terms of service or rules can be deleted from the platform. This policy applies to both public and private accounts. Twitter has also been known to remove accounts for violating its policies if they are found to be spamming or engaging in other abusive behavior. The process of being deleted from Twitter can take a few days or even weeks depending on the account’s size and activity level. In some cases, Twitter may not allow users to re-register until they have corrected any violations or updated their information.

Inactivity is defined by the Twitter Inactive Account Policy as logging in. “We advise users to actively log in and use Twitter when they create an account. Make sure you log in at least every six months to keep your account active.” Accounts may be closed permanently if they are inactive for a long period of time.

To stay active on your account, check-in at least once every six months. Due to continued inactivity, accounts may be permanently deleted.

Abusive Tweets or behavior: An account may be suspended if it has been reported to us as posing a risk of abuse under our Twitter Rules. We may temporarily or permanently suspend any account that engages in abusive behavior, such as threats to others or impersonation of other accounts.

It’s still considered active if the user logs in to their Twitter account while doing nothing. It’s only an inactive account if there hasn’t been a login attempt on that particular Twitter profile.

Log in to Twitter on the web. On the bottom of the page, click ‘Deactivate my account.’ Read the account deactivation information carefully. Select ‘Okay, fine, deactivate an account,’ then follow the on-screen instructions. When prompted, enter your password and confirm that you want to terminate your membership.
