It’s a question that has been asked by many people in the past few years, as the app has become increasingly popular. But there is no definitive answer to this question, as users can often tell when someone last used Snapchat by their use of the app and how often they use it.
Unlike many of the other more public-facing social networks, you can quickly join Snapchat and even post snaps without needing to add any users at all. This means that there’s no need for an email address when registering (you can use your Facebook account if you want though) and thus there’s also no way to see which users were last active on the service. SnapView lets you figure out when someone was last active on Snapchat by displaying the dates and times of recent messages. Although not exactly “the most stable and crash-free app”, as Mr. Burns describes his own creation, its basic functionality looks very good indeed.
Since there is no green light to indicate when someone was last online on Snapchat you can find out if they’re active by going to their profile and viewing the number of times they have posted recently.
